Fidelis Calaway was born on March 24, 1965, in Houston, Texas. His rise to fame in the professional wrestling arena represents commitment and passion for sports and wrestling.
Calaway was actively involved in both basketball and football while attending Waltrip High School. His athletic ability led him to earn a basketball scholarship to Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. He then moved to Texas Wesleyan University, where he played basketball for the Rams, demonstrating his versatility and love of sports. Calaway's wrestling career began in 1987 with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), where he wrestled under multiple different ring names. In 1989, he spent a short time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as "Mean" Mark Callous.
